Letter from Sandy

My late husband, Mark, and I started Breath of Hope Ohio in 2014 to spread awareness and raise much needed funds for lung cancer research.

Mark would be extremely proud of the impact we have made on research and increasing survivor rates. More people will die from lung cancer than colon, breast and prostate cancers combined. Yet, research dollars for lung cancer is among the lowest. We must break the stigma. If it can happen to us, it can happen to anyone.

Breath of Hope Ohio is helping to change the future of lung cancer. In five years, we have raised over $1,000,000 to advance research.

We are honored to support Dr. David Carbone and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC - James) and their efforts to bring innovative treatments from the lab to the patients. With many breakthroughs on the horizon, we need your support to keep this research moving forward.

I’m appreciative of the community support and donors that are committed to finding a cure for lung cancer. Let’s blow lung cancer away… forever!

I invite you to join me at the Breath of Hope Ohio seventh annual gala on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Join our mission to find a future without lung cancer!

With sincerest thanks,

Sandy Lomeo
