Letter from Sandy

My late husband, Mark, and I started Breath of Hope in 2014 to spread awareness and raise much needed funds for lung cancer research.

More people will die from lung cancer than colon, breast and prostate cancers combined. Yet, research dollars for lung cancer is among the lowest. We must break the stigma. If it can happen to us, it can happen to anyone. Inspirational words will be shared from Bonnie Addario.

The Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF) is one fo the largest philanthropies (patient-founded, patient-focused, and patient-driven) devoted exclusively to eradicating Lung Cancer through research, early detection, education, and treatment. The Foundation’s goal is to work with a diverse group of physicians, organizations, industry partners, individuals, patients, survivors, and their families to identify solutions and make timely and meaningful change and turn lung cancer into a chronically managed disease by 2023.

We are honored to support Dr. David Carbone and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James) and their efforts to bring innovative treatments from the lab to the patients. We are on the edge of making great change. We need your support to fund progress to keep this research moving forward.

I invite you to join me at the Breath of Hope Fifth Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, April 6, and join our mission to fund a future without lung cancer.

With sincerest thanks,
Sandy Lomeo
